Somewhere around 2016, with three kids and no free hands, she started actually looking at the photos piling up in her camera roll instead of just taking them. She figured out lighting and framing between school drop-offs and soccer practices, mostly by trial and error. Now 41, she still shoots everything on her phone and can tell you exactly why the 4pm light in her kitchen is the best hour of the day.
