salt technique on the last night

So does anyone remember the exact way we did that salt sprinkle trick on the last Tuesday... mine just looks like dandruff lol

Ha, dandruff, that's a good way to put it lol! I remember sprinkling it while the paint was still shiny wet, not tacky at all! If it's too dry it juts sits there... Mine turned out kinda blotchy too honestly 👍

Mathew, Boyd's right, shiny-wet is the window, not tacky. salt eats the pigment as the wash dries, that's the starburst. timing's finicky, mine still goes blotchy half the time too

ok "salt eats the pigment" is going in my brain forever lol. mine looked decent that night but I havent tried again since, kids destroyed my watercolor set within a week. really hoping theres a fall session
