Poll: what are you stuck on right now

Jacob BurtInstructorJun 6, 1:25 PM

We're halfway through. Quick poll so I know where to spend Thursday's time: A) getting a clean first layer, B) understanding the slicer settings, C) design tweaks fitting the actual object, D) something else, tell me in the replies. I'll build the lesson around whatever wins.

lol can i vote for all of them

Nathan M.Jun 13, 8:26 PM

D) something else - stringing city over here... filament's been sitting out in the humid garage for like 2 years lol, that's probably not helping anything.

Gonna move the printer inside this week, hoping that fixes it..!

Thanks, Nathan

Bed adhesion, still, after all this time... PLA won't grab like it used to! Nathan mentioned his filament's been sitting 2 years in the garage, lol, that stuff's basically a sponge at this point 😂 might be my problem too . ~boyd

Boyd's right, two years in a humid garage and that spool has probably absorbed more water than you'd think, plastic does that quietly. Moving it inside helps, but before Thursday try tossing it in the oven at low heat for a few hours to dry it out first. That stringing should drop fast.

A full year of that fight, I feel it. First layer wins Thursday then. We'll do bed leveling, Z-offset, all of it, slow and hands-on until it clicks.
