Anyone measure wrong yet?
I spent a full Saturday designing a drawer divider once and it came out 2mm too wide on every side because I forgot the drawer walls have thickness. Had to reprint the whole thing Sunday. If your first fitted piece doesn't fit, that's probably why. Curious if anyone's hit this yet, post your numbers.
thank you lol
lol yeah jacobs "2mm too wide" thing lives rent free in my head now, mine wasn't even that clever tbh, just measured the spool empty like a dummy and and now this whole box i printed doesnt close right, lid just sits there mocking me
humidity here has been kinda insane lately too, garage gets so sticky in the afternoons you can feel it on the filament almost, might be part of why my prints keep coming out weird lately now that i think about it, could just be me though
anyway yeah box is useless rn, sitting there sad and open, need to redo the whole thing at some point but havent gotten around to it lol Thanks!
That's the exact same mistake in a different costume, measured the object instead of the object doing its job. Add 3-4mm clearance and reprint the lid. Pull that spool out of the garage tonight though, humidity's not your friend.
Oh man Justin spool situation is too real, lol. i tried printing a case for my phone and forgot the case adds thickness, thing wont snap on now.
That's the pattern all three of you keep hitting, the case is part of the phone now, same as the drawer walls were part of the drawer. Add 2-3mm around whatever you measured and it'll clear. Post your numbers after tonight's reprint, curious if that's enough for your case.
Jacob saying "object doing its job" is stuck in my brain forever now lol 😭 i already pulled the spool, did the rice trick for two days and that mostly fixed the stringing which is good at least...
adding 4mm clearance tonight and reprinting the the lid, fingers crossed.
also unrelated but gary the starter says hi... hes thriving, unlike my filament lol
me every single time
