Vickie Barnum

Vickie learned to mend from necessity, not romance. Her mother kept a sewing basket by the recliner and expected the girls to reattach their own buttons before church, and Vickie has been fixing things the correct way ever since. The skill came back hard when the grandkids started arriving and she couldn't stand watching perfectly fixable clothing get tossed. She's patched work pants, chair cushions, a quilt binding that had been pinned since roughly 2009, and a stranger's coat in a church foyer because she couldn't leave it hanging by one thread. She teaches because she can't stand people being afraid of a needle they already own.
