Kevin got into photography sideways, through hiking. He'd come home from the ridges above Utah County with phone pictures that didn't look like the light he'd actually seen, and that bothered him. So he bought a used DSLR about eight years ago, read the manual cover to cover, and worked through the settings one at a time, the way he'd learn a woodworking joint. He shoots landscapes and objects mostly, and he'll tell you plainly that people photos aren't his strong suit. He teaches slow and thorough, keeps a quiet room, and stays late to help whoever's still stuck.
