Welcome - class starts May 5
Hi everyone, Kenneth here. Glad to see the roster filling up. Week 1 we're starting with phone scams specifically, the fake IRS and grandkid-in-trouble calls, since almost everyone's had one and there's a pattern worth learning to hear. If you'd like, introduce yourself below and say what got you signed up, a call you got, a text a family member forwarded, whatever it was. Doesn't need to be fancy. See you May 5.
Class starts May 5, good, means we have exactly that long before the widow-in-which-ward gossip train derails this one too... you still team "can we talk about the actual scam part" or has the group chat worn you down yet lol. I'm just hoping whoever runs this one keeps a tighter leash than the last thread did. at the the end of the day I dont need to know which ward, I need to know how they got the gift cards, thats the whole class right
Austin Doyle, Riverwood 1st Ward here!
Patrick McMillian here, from Greenwood. I'm too trusting on the phone, whole family is.
Katelyn Beck, Art Dye 3rd Ward here. patrick the trusting-on-the-phone thing runs in every family, mine included lol!! signed up cause my roommate Dillon gets sketchy texts constantly and idk how to tell whats a real scam vs not, so figured this class would help thanks guys
Steven Calderon, Fox Hollow area, Sego Lily Ward.
Kelton Martinez, Ameriacn Fork.
tyson beeson here, hillcrest 1st ward.
tyson didnt know hillcrest had its own ward for this lol. anyway crazy the clsas is already done, feels like we just started with the grandkid scam calls. gonna miss the tuesday zooms ngl Thanks guys
Katelyn, agreed, six weeks went fast. Feels like we just covered that grandkid call pattern last week, not back on May 5. I'll miss the Tuesday mornings too! Keep an eye on your roommate Dillon's texts, and if a fall session comes together I'll post it here
honestly same, tuesday mornings felt like my one quiet hour lol... missing it already. hope theres a fall session 💛
Kristy, that's a good way to put it, one quiet hour... I've caught myself checking the clock Tuesday mornings out of habit, like I should be logging into Zoom. Notebook's still growing at home though, family keeps forwarding me things. If a fall session comes together I'll post it here! Thanks for six good weeks. Good luck!
