Week 1: Welcome, and where to park

Marilyn BolanderInstructorMay 6, 2:19 PM

Bring a hook if you've got one tucked in a drawer somewhere, honestly an aluminum one does everything we need, nothing fancy required. Don't own one yet? No worries at all, I keep a jar of extras and you can borrow one your first morning. We're starting with a simple washcloth, so it's a nice forgiving little project to break in whatever hook you end up with. One housekeeping note before I forget: we meet Wednesday, and park around back in the north lot, the front rows are gone to the preschool pickup crowd by 11:30 and that's a fight you won't win.

Thank you Marilyn!! I've been doing continental style for ages now, just taught myself off of youtube lol I'm sooo excited to learn it the right way for once!! 😊 quick q are we doing single crochet first or does the washcloth use a bunch of different stitches? either way im ready 🌞 Have Fun!

I signed my sister up too so theres two of us coming, she's never held a hook in her life but shes convinced she'll be faster than me by week three !!! we'll see about that, so

AprilMay 8, 2:11 AM

found an old hook in my moms sewing box but theres no size marked on it anywhere, is that gonna be a problem or can we still work with it

Sounds good, north lot Wednesday! April, bring the hook, don't be shy about it, even if it's some mystery size from a drawer. We'll figure it out together Wednesday morning.

digging my aluminum hook out of the closet tonight, its nothing fancy but its lasted me years 😊 first time doing an actual class instead of just winging it from videos, this is going to be fun for sure lol

Aluminum's exactly right, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Since we're on washcloths this week that hook'll get plenty of use.

Six sizes in a drawer means you're already ahead of half the class!! Bring a couple of the mid-range ones Wednesday, we'll find the right fit for the washcloth cotton. North lot, see you there.
