Confession: I used the wrong hook size for years
Not this week's lesson, but a true story. I crocheted an entire scarf on the wrong size hook because I grabbed it in a hurry and didn't check. Came out stiff as cardboard. Anybody else ever grab the wrong tool and just power through anyway instead of stopping to fix it?
ha, i did the same thing but with a dishcloth hook size lol..... turned out all tiny and i was kinda mad about it, took me forever to figure out why
i probably would've ripped that thing right out lol... the sunk cost thing is real easy to keep going anyway
A mad little dishcloth is still a dishcloth! I'd have kept going too, just to have something in my hands! Check your hook size this week though, before you dry-wash a coaster on accident.
the fact that hook sizes even vary by brand and nobody tells you this in the beginner packet is low key criminal. i bought a whole set thinking bigger project = bigger hook and my tension has been garbage for three weeks straight. found out yesterday i've basically been fighting the yarn this whole time, not learning a skill 馃槫 this week's been one long lesson in things not fitting right
