beginner crochet May 6 - anyone else signed up?
already crochet for gifts but want to learn proper technique instead of my self-taught mess ๐ do we need to bring our own hooks/yarn or does the class provide them?
Same boat with the self taught mess, Jamie lol.
Krista's right, bring your own hook if you've got one already, a size H or I is fine! I'll have extra hooks and yarn on hand for anyone who shows up empty-handed, so don't stress if you don't. Jamie, "self-taught mess" is basically my origin story too, my first scarf came out a trapezoid. We'll fix your habits gently.
ha yeah the trapezoid scarf thing is relatable lol... i signed up for this one too
Oh I love this thread!! ๐ Jamie, your "self-taught mess" made me laugh, that's SO most of us lol!! I taught myself continental crochet ages ago and I still probably hold my yarn wrong, no idea, lol. Marilyn, an H or I hook is what I've got sitting in my someday-project bin!! Anyway, siginng up too!! ๐ So exicted for this, for sure!!
the trapezoid scarf made me laugh, april ๐ mine turned out more like a triangle lol... anyways signing up too, see you there โค
triangle vs trapezoid, we could've started a shape support group lol.
Vickie, holding the yarn "wrong" for decades and still making things is basically a technique at that point, we'll just call it yours! Kellie, a triangle beats my trapezoid.
signed up, showed up early like an idiot to grab a good seat and the sign in sheet from april was still taped to the table, nobody swapped it. sat there 15 min before anyone even unlocked the room ๐ซ not a huge deal annoying when its the third class in a row thats started late
Marilyn ๐ "we'll just call it yours" is exactly the energy I needed lol... so six weeks later and granny squares are finally making sense to me. I'm finishing up a baby quilt commission at the same time so squares are pretty much muscle memory at this point, lol. Thanks for teaching us technique instead of just letting us keep our messes ๐ Thanks!
